Water And Gas Safety Shut-Off Valve

Water And Gas Safety Shut-Off Valve

Learn more about WAGS Valves! All across America, homeowners are discovering the wisdom of having a WAGS Water And Gas Safety valve installed on the water heater. The fact is, every water heater will eventually fail, usually within 7 to 10 years. It happened to Pat Chmura four years ago, and she'll never forget the flood. What's more, her brand new water heater failed just last year! Fortunately, her plumber had installed a WAGS valve, saving her countless hours of cleanup and thousands in repairs.

You can have your plumber install a WAGS valve with your new water heater or you can have your old water heater retro-fitted, like Dave and Donna Lynch. Six months later, when their old standby turned into Old Faithful, they were glad they did. WAGS saved their basement - and everything stored in it - from extensive water damage. Now they have a brand new water heater...and a brand new WAGS valve to protect them.

How the WAGS valve works.

A drip pan is installed under your water heater. The WAGS valve is attached to the water source, then to the water heater. If a leak occurs, a water-soluble disc in the WAGS dissolves, releasing a powerful spring-loaded piston that closes the flow of water to the tank. In gas-fired water heaters, this action also breaks a fuse that shuts off the gas supply to the heater.

WAGS is based on patented fiber element technology developed for the British Royal Air Force to inflate life jackets automatically. It's highly reliable, totally mechanical, and requires no additional power source.

An estimated 5 million homes will experience a water heater leak this year. What would a leak do to YOUR property?
